The Daily Graphic is pleased with the assurance by the Minister nominee for roads and highway, Kwesi Amoako-Atta, when he appeared before the Appointment Committee of Parliament, that the second term of Nana Akufo-Addo’s government would concentrate on the dualisation of all major roads in the country. The paper is happy with the assurance because the narrow nature of roads has made them prone to accidents. Factors such as speeding and inadequate provisions for broken vehicles have contributed to high rate of accidents. The paper believes the country needs to finance, construct and operate a dualised highway system and a tolling regime that is user friendly for both public and commercial use. The Graphic is of the view that considering the capital intensive nature of dualising all major roads, the government should consider a Public and Private Partners arrangements that is financially sound and will ensure value for money.

The Ghanaian Times focuses on the need for the country to prioritize the study of mathematics. It says policy makers must undergo orientation courses in mathematics and statistics for effective analysis and informed decision on policies and implementation. The paper says Mathematics is about problem solving and hence the need to find creative and practical ways to make it inviting. The Times calls on the Ghana Education Service to help train mathematics teachers who would teach young ones to appreciate the subject.
