The Ghanaian Times commends government for the enforcement of the closed season, which it believes would help turn around the fishing industry in the country for the better. The paper lauds fishermen for fully backing government to successfully implement the closed season which in the long run would be beneficial to all Ghanaians. The Times urges the public to support the concept so it can be sustained in the interest of the nation. It looks forward to the next closed season this time for trawlers which commences on August 1.

The Daily Graphic commends moves by key stakeholders in the mining sector to add value to the country’s natural resources. The Graphic welcomes engagement between the Ministry of Lands and Natural resources and the Ghana Chamber of Mines as well as some mining companies to process 30 percent of gold mined in the country. The paper is optimistic that the move will enable both institutions to tap into the synergies along the value chains of the mining industry to ensure better returns.
