Daily Graphic expresses worry about growing lawlessness and manner in which the inefficiencies of the district assemblies and regional ministers are turning Accra into a slum. The paper observes that even in high class residential areas such as Airport, Ridge, Dansoman estates among others, squatters have found spaces to put up structures as places of abode, using all kinds of materials. They have also built on water ways such as the Odaw river, using it as a refuse dump in the full glare of city authorities. All these, the paper believes, have made Accra to lose its value. The Graphic therefore calls on government and all relevant stakeholders to take the bull by the horn and enforce the law to curb the city’s sanitation problems to enable the country to realize its dream of becoming the cleanest city on the continent.

The Ghanaian Times comments on the crises in the energy sector and wonders why they even exist. The paper is worried that while the country struggles to meet national demand, developments in the energy sector seem to dash the hopes of securing total national supply due to population growth, mismanagement and lack of expertise. The Times is of the view that these problems must be addressed as soon as possible because as the population keeps growing, the demand for energy will rise and its associated problems would worsen. The Times therefore appeals to relevant stakeholders to come together to fix the problems once and for all for the benefit of all Ghanaians.
