The Ghanaian Times: applauds government for the decision to take over Airtel Tigo. It says one of the issues that has undermined the country’s development is the inability of successive governments to nurture and sustain state-owned companies. The paper finds it encouraging that the state has taken possession of a national asset sold a decade ago. It says the collapse of Airtel Tigo would have had dire consequences on Ghana’s economy, considering the number of people it employed, and its tax contribution to the state. The paper calls on government to put in an efficient management team to manage the company and transform it to a strategic national telecommunication company to compete with other players in the industry in Ghana.

The Daily Graphic: says caring for people with Haemophilia is a shared responsibility. It expresses disappointment at the fact that there is not much awareness on the disease and treatment options in Ghana. It says majority of parents cannot afford the laboratory investigations required in the diagnosis and management of the disease. Parents of children with the disease have to, therefore, shoulder the burden of all the required laboratory investigations. As the country joins the world to observe a day for the global bleeding disorder community, the Graphic urges the Ghana Haemophilia Society (GHS) to use this year’s commemoration to raise the needed awareness of the disorder and organize more educational programmes on it.
