The Ghanaian Times advises government not to banish onion sellers to Adjen Kotoku, for now, Agbogbloshie encroachers. It says in as much as it supports the efforts of the Greater Accra Regional Minister, Henry Quartey, to give Accra a facelift, this should be guided by the London rebuilding example to do the needful urgently. In this vein, the Times urges the government to develop Agbogbloshie as the sellers re-relocate into modern facilities like markets and recreational centres. This the paper believes is the only way to prevent future encroachment in the area.

The Daily Graphic lauds the Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) for its pro-activeness and seriousness in working towards the actualization of President Akufo-Addo’s dream to make Accra the cleanest city in Africa. The paper says AMA has done well in maintaining a clean city as it has understudied the waste management of other countries to implement them in Ghana. The paper however encourages the Assembly to continue the good work in making Greater Accra clean. It holds the view that urbanization and a fast-growing population are no excuse to sacrifice city planning.
