The Daily Graphic expresses worry over the safety of school children across the country. The paper points to a recent incident at Korle Gonno in Accra, where a KG pupil fell into an underground water reservoir and died while playing with friends. The paper wonders why the school’s authorities failed to use its IGF to at least fence the underground water reservoir to protect young ones from falling into it, after it was noticed that the reservoir had been there for more than five years. The Graphic suggests a comprehensive audit in all schools to prevent such incidents from recurring.

The Ghanaian Times calls for the Tamale Airforce Station to be adequately resourced to enable government officials to be airlifted for important assignments within the region. This comes on the back of a road accident involving four DCEs in the Northern Region, who were on their way to Wa where President Akufo-Addo launched the Rearing for Food and Jobs programme. The paper expresses the need to ease pressure on the roads to ensure that officials get to their assignment venues safely.

The Daily Heritage urges government to resolve disputes between District Assemblies over boundaries, which have often ended in the loss of lives and property. The paper refers to recent reports of clashes between the Ga South and Awutu Senya East District Assemblies where the Ga South Assembly attempted to claim Kasoa as part of its territories and it raises concern that such disputes could surface in the newly created regions, and asked government to step in to end them.
