The Daily Graphic and Ghanaian Times are worried about recent clashes in the Volta region calling on government to deal decisively with the insurrection in Volta Region. It says timely reaction from the security forces last Friday helped to quell actions by members of a secessionist group agitating to breakaway. The papers are of the view that media coverage especially by unregulated tabloids and blogs, must not spread fear and panic and blow the crisis out of proportion adding that if the media miss a step in their articles and utterances, the country is doomed. The Dailies also called on all to hasten slowly so as not to create the impression that the nation is dealing with a complex group that can rival the sophistication of Boko Haram, al Qaeda or ISIS. Both Papers call on the security apparatus and the judicial system to investigate and deal swiftly and decisively with such miscreants and all recent developments bordering on high treason.
