The Daily Graphic and Today Newspapers both focus on the issue of collapsed banks albeit from different angles. The Daily Graphic appeals to government to assist 1,700 workers of the five collapsed banks who are to go home under the staff rationalisation programme of the Consolidated Bank. It says the appeal has become necessary because each of the affected staff has about four or five dependants. The paper therefore appeals to the labour unions to step up their game in finding relief for the affected workers. The Graphic suggests that they should be absorbed into the Nation Builders Corps.

The Today Newspaper takes issue with the comment by Bishop Duncan-Williams that Christians should shut up their big mouths in the matter involving Pastor Mensah-Otabil and the collapse of Capital Bank. The Paper however takes a different view, that commenting on a national issue such as the collapse of the seven banks is not the same as passing judgement. It cities instances where people have been punished for going contrary to religious doctrinal and Biblical teachings. The Today newspaper opines that all Ghanaians ought to contribute to the discussion to make the country prosperous now and in the future.

The Ghanaian Times says the country needs to do more to attain the SDG’s on maternal and infant mortality. It calls on government to expand healthcare delivery in rural and underserved communities to ensure universal coverage and improve the people’s health status. The paper notes that CHPS compounds have been found to be very effective in health care delivery, therefore government should commit more resources to what it describes as a strategic healthcare intervention.
