The Daily Graphic is happy about the way the special voting was conducted and commends the Electoral Commission for its effort so far in preparations towards the elections. It however condemns some needless instances of violence that have heralded the process leading to the General election. The paper says yesterday’s special voting has shown once again that having a peaceful and incident-free election is possible and must definitely make the lessons learned to count on December 7 and beyond.

Ghanaian Times says curbing HIV/AIDS is a shared responsibility. It says the global theme for this year’s celebration “Global solidarity, resilience service” calls for resilience to advance science to find an effective vaccine, develop new prevention tools, improve treatment regimes, including genetic options, identify additional effective behavior-change strategies and ultimately to produce an affordable cure for AIDS. The paper commends efforts by WHO towards eliminating the disease by 2030. The Times says to achieve this laudable goal, there is a need for behavioral change in the population and advises people to always protect themselves during sex.
