The Ghanaian Times is in full support of the COVID-19 restrictions reintroduced by President Akufo-Addo. The paper says, it is important that the measures have been reintroduced at this critical period where cases keep rising. The Times believes the only way to ensure these protocols are observed is to mete out severe punishment to persons who disobey them to serve as a deterrent to others. Moreover, it should be mandatory for law enforcement agencies to arrest defaulters as well. The paper says it should be the responsibility of all to adhere to the safety protocols to keep the virus at bay. It therefore appeals to Ghanaians to see it as a civic duty to comply with the COVID-19 safety protocols reintroduced by President Akufo-Addo.

The Daily Graphic envisions a situation where future growth of the economy may be threatened as the COVID-19 pandemic leaves scars, such as disrupted schooling, deeper inequality and higher debts levels and may make future investment more difficult. The paper believes the bank of Ghana must support government in relation to policies to maintain a balance between taming inflation and interest rates, while helping it achieve fiscal consolidation in the midst of the pandemic. The Graphic believes there is the need to find means to lessen economic damage, including fiscal consolidation and prospect for economic and financial development as well as the requirement needed to enhance social protection and support low income families and ways to support economic growth to enhance financial stability.
