The Daily Graphic calls for collective effort to fight teenage pregnancy in the country. The Paper says the canker continues to take a toll on the development of the country. It says teenagers who become pregnant resort to unsafe abortions putting their health at risk. The Paper urges Mental Health, the Ghana Health Service and allied Departments and Agencies to lead the charge in raising awareness of sexual and reproductive health and rights of girls to protect them from abuse. The Paper says girls must be encouraged to make their own decisions about their reproductive health and future. It says the National Health System must be strengthened while comprehensive education on sexuality are provided to them to reduce teenager pregnancy in the country.
The Ghanaian Times is glad Ghanaians have accepted to take the COVID-19 jab contrary to initial skepticism expressed by a section of the public. The paper is overwhelmed at the numbers that thronged the vaccination centres which is indicative of the fact that Ghanaians have accepted a vaccine which is intended to break transmission and reduce COVID-19 related mortalities in the country. Although pleased with the turnout, the paper is in no doubt aware that there are some Ghanaians holding on to the conspiracy theories that are baseless and yet feeding into negative narratives about the vaccines. The Times is therefore calling on Ghanaians to ignore the conspiracy and go for the jab that is intended to keep everyone safe from the disease and nothing more.
