The paper believes that the arms may likely get into the hands of those who may want them for their parochial interests thereby endangering society. It therefore calls for pragmatic approach and globally accepted best practices to ensure that the country is safe from violent and criminal elements. The Graphic calls for proper profiling of persons recruited into the Police Service to ensure that they do not have easy predisposition to violence.
The Ghanaian Times calls for the passing of the Affirmative Action Bill into law. The paper believes the passing of the Bill into law will empower women and girls to promote equitable gender representation at all levels of governance and decision making. It will also address other socio-economic imbalances. The Times shares in the sentiments expressed by Civil Society Organisations and urges Parliament to heed to their call. The paper calls on the public to support advocacy so the Bill can be passed.
