The Ghanaian Times appeals to Ghanaians to always find alternative ways to express their views on issues of national concern other than demonstrations. The paper believes demonstrations create tension among the people as they usually drift from being peaceful into being violent and sometimes even fatal. Citing the FixTheCountry hashtag, a campaign against hardship in the country as an example, the Times says it is evident social media can go a long way to help voice out national concerns. It lauds the conveners for agreeing to hold on with their demonstration due to a court order. It also commends the Police for using legal means to stop the planned demonstration.

The Daily Graphic pays glowing tribute to the Volta River Authority, VRA, one of the nation’s prized assets for blazing the trail in cheaper power generation in the country. The paper commends VRA for remaining a resiliently efficient and high-performing organization, converting each passing challenge into a lasting transformational legacy since its 60 years of existence. The Graphic acknowledges the fact that the Authority has not shied away from venturing into alternative power sources to increase generation and make the cost of electricity cheaper. The paper highlights investments made by the VRA over the years which include a second hydro dam downstream at Akuse, the Kpong Dam in 1982, solar projects from 2013 and wind power still in the works. It recalls that in the mid-1990s, when the country experienced its first major generation challenges due to inadequate water in the Akosombo Dam, VRA again was the reliable power generator that invested in thermal plants.
