The Ghanaian Times stresses the need for women’s issues to be prioritized and tackled to have more women in leadership positions in all spheres of life. The paper believes when women are given quality education, it can better their lot to hold top positions and enable them to raise children who will have interest in acquiring knowledge and skills that are socially and economically viable. It therefore urges the United Nations not to make the observance of the day a mere celebration of prominent women in society but rather a reflection on what to do to make the world a better place for women and children.

The Daily Graphic congratulates the Black Satellites on their victory in the just ended Under 20 African Cup of Nations tournament. The paper says the strategic importance of the Black Satellites in football development must get the Ghana Football Association, GFA to take steps to harness the potential of the players to build on their success and not allow their talents to go waste as had been the case in the past. The paper therefore lauds the move by the GFA to promote some of the outstanding players to the senior team the Black Stars. The move it says will ensure that the youngsters are given the chance to compete with and learn from their seniors.
