Zambian journalist and author Lillian Chipeso has said her visit to Ghana feels familiar and welcoming, describing the experience as “being home” and noting that she is enjoying every moment.
Ms Chipeso, who arrived in Ghana on Saturday, April 18, made the remarks during an appearance on GTV’s Breakfast Show on Thursday, April 23, 2026.
According to her, seeing Ghanaians and Zambians bonding over fugu, a traditional Ghanaian smock, and the playful banter between the two countries has been “very beautiful” to watch.
The award-wining journalist also disclosed that she was emotionally overwhelmed when she was informed by Ghanaian content creator Goshers that she would be travelling to Ghana. “I’m a crybaby, so I cried when I found out I was being flown into Ghana,” she said.
During the interview, she praised the hospitality she has received since her arrival and highlighted the cultural similarities between the two nations.
Chipeso’s visit forms part of ongoing media and cultural exchanges between Ghana and Zambia aimed at strengthening ties between the two countries. Her comments reflect the growing collaboration and affinity between Ghanaian and Zambian creatives and media professionals.
The development follows the social media trend dubbed the “Fugu War”, which emerged after President John Dramani Mahama wore the traditional fugu during a visit to Zambia on February 3, 2026.
Lillian Chipeso and Goshers, a Ghanaian content creator, leveraged the moment to promote cultural exchange between the two countries, culminating in her visit to Ghana.
