Ivy Enyonam Adjimah, popularly known as Big Ivy, has disclosed that she was initially against her son, CJ Biggerman’s rap career from the beginning until she had a “mother and son” conversation with him.

According to Big Ivy, she had tried to convince her son to quit rap, continue with school, and acquire a master’s degree, but he said, “you mummy you’re book long, you don’t know what it means when someone has a passion for something.”

She went on to say, “It got to a point where I wanted to be in showbiz, but I didn’t abandon my education to follow my passion, and that is what I was telling him, to have a plan B in case plan A, which is following his passion, doesn’t work, he can rely on securing a job.”

Upon explaining how her first song “big momma” went viral, she stated that “CJ biggerman wrote a few lines for her, to which I equally contributed, and he asked me to learn the lines, but I was reluctant because my  busy schedule.”

“I am a professional banker, but he persuaded me and we moved straight to the studio,” she stated on GTV’s breakfast show on Friday, September 9.

She added that, after the song was recorded and a video was shot, the video just went viral after CJ biggerman released it without her knowledge.

Meanwhile, what started as a Mother’s Day tribute from rapper CJ Biggerman to his mum, Big Ivy turned into beef for the “big mamas” in Ghana and Nigeria. Big Ivy has also accepted a rap battle against Mama Dolarz live on stage.
