Rumours rife that the co-founder of the DWP academy, Dancegod Lloyd was having issues with some members of the group and the rumours presented some reality when he was missing among his colleagues on the famous Global Citizen festival stage.
However, the god of contemporary dance in Ghana, Laud Anoo Konadu popularly known as Dancegod Lloyd has disclosed that he is on good terms with the Dance With Purpose (DWP) crew despite having parted ways with them.
According to him, the feeling of having a ” bigger calling” influenced his decision to go solo.
“We have always been cool just that I have a bigger calling”, Dancegod Lloyd told Valerie Danso on the GTV Breakfast Show.
“Someone will say but you can still be with DWP and do it. No I have a bigger calling. I want to reach out to other people and focus on the new wave. I always want to be outside the box so that I can be more creative because people are expecting more from dance”, he further stated.
Meanwhile, In September 2022, ghbase.com reported that Dancegod Lloyd has confirmed his exit from the DWP academy. The site also disclosed that he dispelled claims of being at peace with his group in a tiktok live.
“Don’t let anyone lie to you. Don’t let them lie to you. I have done what I can do and the rest is up to them. People are ungrateful. Remember that”, the site quoted.
According to the report, Dancegod Lloyd made this statement in response to the claims he could not perform on the Global Citizen stage because he missed rehearsal.
