The Flag The Face: Social media users celebrate Ghana at 65

Today is Ghana’s Independence Day as the country marks 65 years of independence from British colonial rule.

Some Ghanaians took to social media to celebrate the day by posting two photos, one is the Ghana flag and the other a photo of themselves, and the current state of the economy with the caption “The Flag The Face”.

The hashtag “The Flag The Face” throws a spotlight on Ghana and its progress since birth. However, a section of users on social media have used the opportunity to express their views regarding the state of the economy.

This year’s Independence celebration is being held in the Central Region under the theme, “Working together, bouncing back better”.

Some notable institutions, neighboring countries, celebrities have also taken to social media, Twitter, to congratulate and be a part of the celebration.
