“I am such a proud Voltarian and can’t even explain why”- Mzvee

Daavi Mzvee, a proud Voltarian and an afro-pop, dancehall, and R&B artist whose real name is Vera Hamenoo-Kpeda has revealed that she is proud of where she comes from and she cannot explain why.

Mzvee made this statement on ‘GTV’s Breakfast Show’ during the scoop segment with Kafui Dey.

Volta Region is one of Ghana’s sixteen administrative regions, with Ho designated as its capital.

A person from Volta Region is an Ewe or a Voltarian. They are known for their bright festivals and loud ceremonies and one of the biggest festivals celebrated there is Hogbetsotso. They are lovable, welcoming and friendly people who do not discriminate.

This years 66th Independence Day celebration will be held in Adaklu in the Volta Region.

When we talk about Ghanaian celebrity musicians that hail from the Volta Region, Mzvee cannot be exempted because she exhibits it wherever she shows and proves that she really is proud of her tribe.

“I am such a proud Voltarian, I can’t even begin to tell you. I feel like I stand in for my people in a certain way, people look up to me and every time I post a picture or video people are like oh number 9, I’m so proud to be from the Volta Region because you are from the Volta Region and you’re doing amazing” Mzvee, said.

She added that “heritage is everything to me because that is what I represent and without that you cannot place me anywhere”. Ghana month is celebrated in March because, the Independence Day is celebrated on March 6 every year.

The 6th March Independence Day Celebration is a day to commemorate the declaration of Ghana’s Independence from British colonial rule.

Ghana turns 66 on 6th March, 2023.
