KOFEST 2023 to commence on Monday, November 27

The New Juaben South Municipal Assembly, in collaboration with Royal Planners Event and Management, has set Monday, November 27, 2023, to Sunday, December 3, 2023, to celebrate the maiden edition of the Koforidua Funfair Festival, dubbed KOFEST 2023, in Koforidua, the Eastern Regional Capital, to promote tourism in the region.

The funfair, dubbed KOFEST 2023, is also aimed at boosting the local economy and raising funds to help build a museum in the regional capital, Koforidua, to showcase the artwork, historical items, and tourist sites in the region and the country as a whole.

The museum will also be a place for people to learn about the different cultures in the region and the country, as well as provide firsthand information for tourists that will visit the region. In an interview with GBC Sunrise FM in Koforidua, the Assembly Member of Adweso Electoral Area in New Juaben South Municipality of the Eastern Region and the Director of Royal Planners Event and Management, who is the brain behind KOFEST 2023, Charles Adu, noted that the event will be climaxed with a dinner, and the Legends Night Awards aim to reward individuals who hail from the region and have distinguished themselves in various fields and outstanding companies in the region.

He gave the details of the various activities that will be taking place.

Mr. Adu appealed to corporate bodies, benevolent and governmental organisations, and companies in and outside the region to come on board to help raise funds to build the museum. 

The event will see the German Ambassador to Ghana, His Excellency, Daniel Krul; the Minister of Education, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum; the Minister of Tourism, Arts, and Culture, Dr. Mohammed Ibrahim Awal; the Omanhene of New Juaben Traditional Area, Daasebre Kwaku Boateng; the Eastern Regional Minister, Seth Kwame Acheampong; and the MCE of New Juaben South, Isaac Appau-Gyasi, among others, gracing the event.
