Kofi B passes away after performing at a concert in Cape Coast

Highlife musician, Kofi Boakye Yiadom is popularly known as Kofi B has died after performing at a concert in Cape Coast. He was confirmed dead this morning after complaining of an unusual heartbeat right after his performance.

Kofi B, born Kofi Boakye Yiadom, is known for hit songs such as Mmbrowa, Bantama Kofi Boakye, Koforidua Flowers among other hit songs, and has performed on many stages and as well won some awards.

The musician is said to have passed on Sunday morning after complaining of chest pains and being put on oxygen due to difficulty in breathing.

Many Ghanaians have taken to Twitter to express their condolences for the highlife musician who is described by many to define real highlife music.

The ‘mmbrowa’ had dreams of becoming a legal practitioner but got inspiration from heavyweights in the music industry like Amakye Dede and Kojo Antwi.

His recordings with Ofori Amponsah, which was a household name helped him shoot to fame.

In his career, he released an album together with the  ‘Otoolege’ hitmaker Mr. All4Real, who also helped produce other tracks.

Kofi B got nominations for his works and won some awards including the Ghana Music Awards. Other songs by Kofi B include Akua Ataa, Donkomi, Daddy and Wonti.
