The most difficult thing was leaving Effiakuma- Kofi Kinaata

Popular Ghanaian Singer and Songwriter, Martin King Arthur known in the music industry as Kofi Kinaata said leaving Effiakuma was the toughest thing he did.

“I was the area champion coming up with everybody hailing me in the bus, all of a sudden I have to leave to somewhere to start everything afresh”.

“I moved to Odorkor, I was with my Manager after I got signed unto the High Grade Family. This was where I learnt a lot of things on rap, the kind of words to use for love songs, party songs amongst others. That was the first thing I learnt in Accra”.

Kofi Kinaata revealed this on GTV’s Breakfast Show on April 19, 2024.

When asked about his dope song titled Effiakuma Brokenheart, he said it was a story, as to it being personally related, he said it was simply a story.

Kofi Kinaata says sometimes the music comes through research, but for the most part picks inspiration from his environment.

“Sometimes the beat will inspire whatever you want to write, sometimes you have everything in your mind and want to talk about it through the beat”he further stated

Kofi Kinaata grew up in Takoradi, Ghana but was born in Sekondi-Takoradi. He started his career as a rapper and released his first single titled ‘Hallelujah’ in 2012.

The song was the first of many successful singles from the artist. He then released singles such as ‘Things Fall Apart’, ‘Susuka’, ‘Sweetie Pie’, ‘Single and Free’ and many more. The songs have been featured in several movies, television shows and advertisements.
