Veteran Ghanaian actor and show host, Kwaku Sintim-Misa, popularly known as KSM, has slammed Aglow International – Ghana, a renowned women’s prayer group, for their recent prayer session aimed at resolving the Electricity Company of Ghana’s (ECG) power challenges.
According to KSM, ECG has enough power to meet Accra’s demands, but the real issue lies in the debt stacked up against the company. He emphasized that the persistent power outages, locally known as “Dumsor,” have been politicized to the point where maintenance services are neglected. The veteran actor stressed that prayer alone won’t resolve the issue; instead, a thorough analysis of the problems and identification of necessary fixes are required.
This falls on the back of the recent prayer session the women’s group had as part of their monthly intercessory prayers for the country, where they prayed against the continuous power outages.
KSM expressed his views on his show, “The KSM Show,” stating that the problem with ECG is not spiritual but rather a power generation issue.
‘’If we don’t fix Dumsor, no matter how much we pray, nothing will happen,’’ he reiterated.
‘’We need to sit down and analyze what went wrong, what needs to be fixed, we don’t ignore all that and go and pray.’’
According to him, he hardly interferes when it comes to faith and religion but only sees the need to do so when there is no common sense applied.
‘’I don’t interfere with people’s faith, but what I interfere with is the misapplication of faith in instances where common sense and science need to be applied’’.
KSM’s criticism of Aglow International’s prayer session for ECG highlights his stance on addressing problems through practical means rather than relying solely on spiritual solutions. His views reflect a broader conversation about the role of faith and practicality in solving Ghana’s challenges.
