Amidst the controversy surrounding claims that the song “Aso” is based on his personal life, popular Ghanaian musician George Kwabena Adu, known in showbiz as Kwabena Kwabena, has set the record straight.

According to the musician, the inspiration behind the song was not drawn from his own experiences but rather from a desire to tell a story that resonates widely with his audience.

“The point of the matter is, it’s not a story that happened to me,” Kwabena Kwabena clarified. “I was looking at a message that could bring some attention and also find a way to tell a certain story, which I see happen to so many people.”

He explained that as a writer and composer, he aimed to craft a narrative that listeners could relate to, drawing from common experiences in everyday life.

“This is a story people can easily relate to because you realise that it’s not something that doesn’t happen in our daily lives,” he said.

Kwabena Kwabena stressed that his creative process involved combining meaningful lyrics with rhythms that would connect emotionally with his audience.

“Putting together lyrics, bringing a message through a rhythm that can actually resonate with the people was at the back of my mind,” he noted.

He made the remarks at the launch of “Aso @ 20,” an event marking two decades since the release of the hit song.
