MTN Ghana has presented a cheque for seven thousand Ghana Cedis and MTN credit worth 500 Ghana Cedis to the Lawra Traditional Council in support of the Kobine Festival.

The Manager, Area Sales (North) ,MTN Ghana, Obed Adu-Amankwaah who made the presentation, pointed that it is always a delight to be in Lawra year-on-year because MTN values the partnership it has with the traditional rulers in the country.
He intimated that MTN sponsors a series of festivals across the country adding that what we are doing in Lawra is no exception.

Obed Adu-Amankwaah said: “This year happens to be the 43rd session of the Kobine Festival, which is celebrated to thank the gods for bumper harvest…, so MTN is very delighted to be here to support this worthy cause.”
MTN equally gave a helping towards a gala competition for the Festival which was played over a month.
The winner of the gala took home one thousand Ghana Cedis with assorted MTN souvenirs and a set of new jerseys.
The second team took home 800 Ghana Cedis, assorted MTN souvenirs and a set of new jerseys as well.
The third placed team had 500 Ghana Cedis and assorted souvenirs.
A street jam and race were also supported by MTN.
According to Mr. Adu-Amankwaah, supporting  the people of  Lawra on several fronts is part of MTNs corporate social responsibility to give back to the communities in which the entity is operating as a token of their loyalty to the MTN brand.
He said MTN has partnered with the Lawra Traditional Council for the past ten years as a way of preserving traditional and cultural practices as well as building heritage.
Mr. Adu-Amankwaah emphasized that the hand of support MTN gives to festivals across Ghana is a practical manifestation of the value MTN places on culture.
The Chairman of the Kobine Festival Planning Committee, Naa Ngmenmaal Yobo who received a dummy cheque for the money and the MTN credit was very grateful to MTN for the package.
He appealed to MTN to establish a service centre in Lawra to spare the people the area the trouble of travelling to Wa when the need arise.
Naa Yobo who is also the Chief of Kunyukuo said all the chiefs in the Lawra paramountcy were ready to support MTN to bring a service centre closer to them.
The Lawra Traditional Council also made a presentation to Mr. Adu-Amankwaa at the grand durbar to climax the Kobine Festival in appreciation of MTNs support towards the event.
