The Accra High Court has granted a request by Artiste Manager Lawerence Nana Asiamah Hanson, popularly known as Bullgod, for an out-of-court settlement in his defamation suit against Dancehall musician Charles Nii Armah Mensah, also known as Shatta Wale.

Bullgod sued Shatta Wale following a publication he made on his social media page last November accusing him of the murder of Fennec Okyere, who was the manager of musician Kwaw Kese.

Shatta Wale also made other allegations against Bullgod. Bullgod claims the series of allegations against him are malicious and defamatory and is seeking damages from Shatta Wale.

However, Lawyer for Bullgod, Dr. Justice Srem-Sai, informed the court that the parties have considered settlement and that negotiation is underway. At the last adjourned date, the court directed the parties to file their witness statements.

Dr. Srem-Sai told the court that his client has been unable to comply with the directive because of the decision for an out-of-court settlement. He therefore prayed for an adjournment and depending on the outcome of the negotiation, he may apply formally for an extension of time to file the witness statement.

The judge, Justice Joseph Agyemang Owusu, urged the parties to settle the matter and adjourned it to April 18.
