More than eighty African Americans are in Ghana for the ‘Back to Africa festival.’ This forms part of government’s flagship campaign, ‘Year of Return’ launched by President Akufo-Addo last year.
The historic campaign marks the end of four hundred years of the slave trade in Ghana.
Speaking to GBC’s Radio Ghana, a member of the ‘Year of Return’ Steering Committee and President of Adinkra Group, Diallo Sumbry lauded the move saying it will enable people worldwide to learn more about the country’s rich culture, people, tourist attractions and hospitality.
Mr. Sumbry said Ghana is a symbol of hope for African emancipation and will continue to seek deeper socio-cultural, economic and political inclusion for its Kith and Kin from the Diaspora.
He gave the assurance that professional services will be offered to enable members of the Diaspora relish their stay in the country.

Mr. Sumbry further outlined some activities for the Back to Africa festival.
