The grand finale of Rabby Starlet season 3 took place at Snap Cinema at the Accra Metropolitan Assembly in Accra. The show was created by Ghanaian actress Rabby Bray in her bid to nurture young people into the industry.
Speaking to the media on the purpose of the show, Rabby indicated that the aim of the show is to build tenacity, patience and to ensure the contestants understand and enjoy the journey of being in the Ghanaian movie industry.
She added that young people should be patient, stay focused, and keep their minds on what interests them. She said that through this, they can achieve their visions in life.
She advised stakeholders to position themselves well to attract support from government and corporate bodies. To her, unity is needed to make the industry very attractive for others to put in the money they need.
At the end of the contest, a graduate nurse, known in the contest as Queen Jayla, was crowned the winner. She used her situation to advise the youth to show determination in whatever they seek to achieve in life.
She further appealed to movie directors and producers to extend their consideration and give chances to new people who show up in the industry. Again, she said script writers should come up with stories that are very educational. This, according to her, will help the industry grow.
A contestant and finalist of the last episode, Queen Cilia, who came to support the contestants, said social media has aided the growth of the movie industry and expressed strong belief in a brighter future for the industry.
She said directors should cast their net wide when identifying talents for their movies. She explained that there are many people out there who can play good roles in films and should be considered.
Also, she advised young actors and actresses to be submissive and learn from those who have taken the lead for them to follow.
