Rajasthan, popularly known as “Rangilo Rajasthan,” meaning “Colourful Rajasthan,” is a state located in northern India. Its capital, Jaipur, is renowned for more than just its colours, palaces and deserts.
To showcase this rich cultural heritage, the Rajasthan Association Ghana, in collaboration with the High Commission of India in Accra, organised the Rajasthan Diwas celebration.
The event, Rangilo Rajasthan 2026, marked the 10th anniversary of the celebration since its inception in 2016 and was held under the theme: “Celebrating the vibrant culture of Rajasthan in Ghana.”
The celebration brought together members of the Indian community across Accra and featured a variety of traditional elements, including mouth-watering Rajasthani dishes such as dal bati churma, alongside other Indian cuisines.
Dance performances also formed a central part of the event, highlighting the diverse cultural traditions of Rajasthan through vibrant and expressive routines.
Speaking at the event on Saturday, 28 March in Accra, the President of the Rajasthan Association of Ghana, Kanika Sunita Rajpurohit, expressed excitement about the milestone anniversary.
She noted that this year’s celebration was particularly special, as it featured an international folk dance artist, Mansi Pawar from Bikaner in Rajasthan.

“Rajasthan is very colourful. You get to see the decorations, the people, the dresses, it’s all colourful,” she said, adding that visitors are immediately immersed in vibrant colours when they visit the region.
Ms Rajpurohit also revealed that the Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Bhajanlal Sharma, and the Rajasthan Commissioner, Manisha Arora, had expressed their support and enthusiasm for the celebration.
“Rajasthan Diwas is also being celebrated in Rajasthan in a big way. Across the world, people are coming up with different ideas to showcase the rich culture of Rajasthan,” she added.
The event highlighted the growing cultural exchange between India and Ghana, while celebrating the traditions and heritage of Rajasthan.
