Nigerian singer and songwriter, Temilade Openiyi, popularly known as Tems has revealed that she co-wrote Rihanna’s new single “Lift Me Up” for Marvel’s Black Panther sequel “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever”.
The track is performed by Rihanna, co-written by Tems, Ryan Coogler and produced Ludwig Göransson.
The multiple award-winning singer shared the news with her fans in an Instagram post on Friday, October 28.
She said: “Blessed to have written this song in honour of Chadwick Boseman and even more blessed to hear the baddest badgalriri voice it to perfection.”

The 27-year-old singer rose to prominence after she was featured on Wizkid’s 2020 single, “Essence”
In less than one year, Tems earned a Grammy Award nomination for the remix of her song “Essence,” which features Canadian singer, Justin Bieber.
The BET award-winner has also worked with some of the biggest music stars in the game, ranging from Beyonce, Drake, Grace Jones, and Future, among others.
The Nigerian songstress has added another icon to the list of stars she’s been able to work alongside this year after co-writing Rihanna’s comeback single “Lift Me Up,” for the upcoming Black Panther sequel, Wakanda Forever, which is due to hit theatres on November 11.
