The Ave-Dakpa Crocodile Beach Resort located in the Akatsi North District of the Volta region will be opened for commercial business from next month.

This follows the completion of the construction of a revenue booth.

The crocodile resort is one of the new tourism facilities being developed in the region to promote tourism in the region and the country.

The Akatsi North district assembly wants to turn around the fortunes of the assembly through tourism development.

This informed its decision to transform the Ave-Dakpa Crocodile resort into a popular ecotourism site in the country and the West African Sub-Region.

The Ave-Dakpa crocodile pond is a natural habitat for live crocodiles believed to have been in existence for more than 80 years.

The crocodiles numbering over 50 in the pond are said to be friendly and entertaining as one can touch and possibly take some memorable pictures with them.

The crocodiles only respond to calls by the tour guide employed by the Assembly.

The Akatsi North District Chief Executive Dr. Prince Sodoke Amuzu, in an interview with Radio Ghana, outlined some plans to future develop the facility and called for investment.
