The Concerned Citizens of Akyem Oda have given government a fortnight to fix the collapsing bridge over the Birim River in the town or they will advise themselves.
Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Group, Gilbert Frimpong said they have been pushing for the rehabilitation of the bridge for some time now but no action has been taken.
Reacting to the ultimatum given by the group, the Eastern Regional Minister, Eric Kwakye Darfour said plans are under way to replace the bridge.
He said due to the bad nature of the bridge it will be prudent for the residents to be patient for a new one to be constructed.
