The National Media Commission (NMC) has directed management of the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC) to reverse its partnership arrangement with KBL.
Early reports indicate that the Corporation had sold the channel to KBL media. But Management in a response said there was not a sale, but rather an MOU to enter into partnership.
GBC’s Radio Ghana sources within the NMC say, the Commission summoned the Board of the Corporation to get answers.
The source said the Board of the State Broadcaster was asked to explain whether the deal was an outright sale or not.
The Board maintained that it was not a sale but an MOU to enter into partnership with KBL media.
Dissatisfied with the responses, the NMC asked that the entire deal be halted, and directed that broad consultation be held for the deal.
