More than one thousand vehicles auctioned by the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) Customs Head Office estimated at 25 million cedis cannot be accounted for.

The Auditor General in its 2018 report on the GRA stated that reconciliation of the Commercial Industrial Bulletin and payment of auction and allocation of vehicles per the GCNET system show that out of the more than 2000 gazetted vehicles 1,719 cannot be accounted for.

According to the report, the remaining 669 vehicles were also disposed off at 8.8 million Ghana cedis per the GCNET impromptu system.

The Audit report indicated that the GRA failed to also provide relevant documents such as Reserve Price list, Auction Sales and Internal Audit Reports in relation to the revenues of the eight point eight million in connection with the 669 vehicles auctioned.

The GRA also failed to account for 1,719 vehicles auctioned between 2015 and 2017.
