The fertility Society of Ghana is calling on front line physicians not to trivialize or dismiss symptoms of persistent and severe abdominal pain often presented by female patients during their menstruation, instead they must probe further for an accurate diagnoses.
At the 2nd annual congress of the fertility society, it was revealed that about 50% of women who have difficulty in conceiving are likely to be suffering from Endometriosis.
In Ghana, about 10% of the female population is said to have Endometriosis often underdiagnosed and untreated because frontline workers are said not to have enough knowledge about the disorder.
