The people of Akwadum Zongo in the New Juaben North Municipality of the Eastern Region have made a passionate appeal to the government and philanthropists to come to their aid. This is as a result of their houses being submerged in floods resulting in displacement.

The people are displaced following continuous downpours for days, resulting in the destruction of property.

The flood is reported to have disconnected the Akwadum Community from Koforidua to the extent that vehicular movement has been distorted.

The New Juaben North Constituency Chairman of the National Democratic Congress, NDC, Alhaji Nasiru with his team including the Constituency organizer, Sixtus Dabuo Dery, Treasurer hopeful, Alhaji Sulley, among others after filing their nomination at the Constituency office visited the Akwadum Community to sympathize with the victims.

The Chairman, Alhaji Nasiru appealed to the government and benevolent persons to come to the aid of the people of Akwadum.

In an interview with GBC News, the victims appealed to the government through the MCE of New Juaben North Municipality, Comfort Asante and the Member of Parliament, Nana Adjei Boateng to come to their aid.
