People of Glefe, a suburb of the Ablekuma West Municipal Assembly in the Greater Accra Region are crying out for help because their monumental lagoon is diminishing as a result of the indiscriminate dumping of refuse that is making life unbearable for them as their health is now at risk.

Speaking on the Keep an Eye Segment of the GTV Breakfast Show on Thursday, June 16, 2022, an Assemblyman of the Constituency made a call to the necessary stakeholders to help put measures in place to put an end to the refuse dumping as it destroys the integrity and purity of the lagoon.

”The long undesirable stench that emanates from the refuse makes it very difficult for inhabitants to breathe and not only that, in the aftermath of a heavy downpour, the lagoon transports this very plastic waste and refuse into people’s homes making it unsafe”.

The Assemblyman and some of the residents gave some facts about the situation at Glefe.
