Chief Executive Officer of Ghana Grid Company (GRIDCO), Jonathan Amoako Baah says the demand for Energy is growing greatly in Greater Accra as the region continues to expand.
It is to better serve customers that the Bulk Supply Point, BSP at Pokuase is being built.
Mr. Amoako Baah said Accra consumes about 25 percent of national power generated daily.
He said the Pokuase BSP will help take off some load from the other BSPs to ensure free flow of electricity to various communities.
Explaining further on the capacity of the Pokuase BSP, Project Engineer Musenu Dizimuhupe said the BSP will transfer about 580 Megawatts of power to other Bulk Supply Points, adding that, after completion, it will serve 350,000 ECG customers.
