All is set for the performance of the funeral of the late Yaa Naa Mahamadu Abdulai.

Construction work at the old Gbewaa Palace is on going ahead of the beginning of the funeral scheduled for Friday December 14 to 28.

Security has been tightened in the Yendi municipality. Northern Regional Minister Salifu Saaed said REGSEC will ensure there is peace.

Meanwhile the Principal Programmes Manager of the Northern Regional Peace Council Nuhu Abubakar considers the decision by government to endorse a road map to settle the long-standing feud between the two royal gates of the Yendi skin as a step in the right direction.

Speaking on “Behind the News” Mr Abubakar said apart from minor challenges which his council is dealing with he sees no possible threat that will cause a hitch at the funeral of the late Ya Na.
