Easter Sunday: Politicians advised to embark on decent campaigns

The Eastern Region ‘A’ Territorial Apostle of the Christ Apostolic Church International, CACI, Apostle Dr. Emmanuel Osei Donkor has appealed to the government, the wings of government and politicians to embark on a decent campaign as the country gears up for the 2024 general elections.

He gave the advice during the Eastern Sunday Christ Resurrection Service of the 2024 Easter Convention of the Koforidua Area of the Christ Apostolic Church International, CACI at the Effiduase Koforidua Prisons Park in the New Juaben North Municipality of the Eastern Region. 

Church services have been held across the globe to commemorate Easter Sunday, which is also called the Resurrection Sunday to mark the resurrection and the rebirth of Christ Jesus the savior of the world. Resurrection Sunday occurs on the third day following the crucifixion of Jesus Christ on the Good Friday. Believers celebrate the day with singing, dancing, and thanksgiving as it signifies the triumphant victory of Jesus Christ over death.

In Koforidua, the Eastern Regional capital, churches have organized conventions to commemorate the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.  Giving the sermon at the Easter Sunday Christ Resurrection Service of the 2024 Easter Convention of the Koforidua Area of the Christ Apostolic Church International, in Koforidua, the Eastern Region ‘A’ Territorial Apostle of CACI, Apostle Dr. Emmanuel Osei Donkor mentioned though from the beginning of the year, Ghanaians thought food will be scarce in the country, God has blessed the country with abundant food. He urged Ghanaians to continue to pray for peace before, during and after the elections and prayed that Ghana will continue to be the star in the whole Africa.

The New Juaben North Municipal Chief Executive, Dr. Edward Asante Antwi in an interview with GBC News, after worshiping with the Koforidua Area of the Christ Apostolic Church International noted that the resurrection of Jesus Christ has empowered everyone to go out and exploit adding that this year shall be a blessing to anyone who has dedicated his or herself for service.

At Effiduase District of the Church of Pentecost, the District Pastor of the Jumapo District of the Church of Pentecost, Pastor Peras Kwaku Avornyoh advised Christians to look up to Jesus Christ in all that they do adding that Ghanaians in whatever they do should ask whether it pleases God.

At the St. Theresa Parish of the Roman Catholic Church at Effiduase Koforidua, the Parish Priest Rev. Father Raphael Kwasi Frimpong advised that as Christians are celebrating the resurrection of Jesus Christ, they should let their lives and behavior reflect the death and resurrection of Christ. He further advised Christians to allow themselves to be led by the Holy Spirit and set aside themselves as a living sacrifice for the betterment of others and the country
