The Parliamentary Committee on Energy has concluded a comprehensive three-day engagement with major power sector institutions at Peduase Valley Resort, aimed at harmonizing their operational plans for 2025. The meetings brought together key stakeholders including the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG), Bui Power Authority, Volta River Authority (VRA), Northern Electricity Distribution Company (NEDCo), Ghana Grid Company (GRIDCo), and the Energy Commission.

The sessions focused on reviewing the sector’s performance, addressing ongoing challenges, and developing strategies to enhance efficiency and service delivery.

Central to the discussions was improving coordination among the agencies to ensure a more reliable power supply that supports Ghana’s national development objectives.

At the closing ceremony, Majority Members of the Committee voiced their concerns about the persistent power outages affecting their constituencies. They highlighted the adverse effects on businesses, healthcare facilities, and households.

Committee Chairman Emmanuel Kwasi Bedzrah, who also represents Ho West, called for urgent and coordinated action from all sector players.

“The frequent power interruptions are causing significant hardship to our communities. It is imperative that all stakeholders work together immediately to stabilize the electricity supply and relieve the burden on our citizens,”  Emmanuel Kwasi Bedzrah emphasized.

The Committee’s engagement marks a critical step towards strengthening Ghana’s energy sector, with a unified commitment to ensuring stable and efficient electricity delivery in 2025 and beyond.
