The family of the late former First Lady, Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings, has announced that her state funeral will be held on November 28, 2025, at the Independence Square in Accra, following her passing on October 23, 2025, at the age of 76.

In a press briefing held ahead of the final funeral rites, Oheneba Akwasi Abayie, the head of the family and Akomfuohene of Otumfuor Osei Tutu II, confirmed that the state funeral will commence at 6 AM. The family has invited the general public to join in honoring the legacy of the former First Lady as she journeys home.
Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings was the wife of Ghana’s longest serving leader, the late Jerry John Rawlings, hence the nation’s longest serving First Lady. Her contributions to Ghanaian society and her role in advocating for women’s rights have left a lasting impact on the nation.
The family has requested attendees to dress in black as a mark of respect and remembrance. This open invitation allows all Ghanaians to pay their tributes to a beloved figure who dedicated her life to public service and the betterment of her country.
