Ghana is hosting a high level meeting on achieving safe water for all and SDG six.
The three day meeting is focusing on water treatment and WASH in health care facilities.
Speaking at the event, the WHO country Director, Dr. Owen Kaluwa said a robust approach needs to be adopted in order to achieve the SDGs.
He said SDG six has a strong focus on WASH and so monitoring of water treatment and delivery must not be down played in ensuring safe water for all.
The Minister of Sanitation and Water Resources, Cecilia Dapaah, said about four thousand children in Ghana die from diarrhoea due to unsafe water and sanitation.
She advocated the creation of locality specific approaches in ensuring sustainable delivery of treated water.
