Ghana’s Minister for Roads and Highways, Mr Kwame Governs Agbodza, has reaffirmed the government’s dedication to the Abidjan-Lagos Corridor Highway Development Project, which aims to improve transportation and boost economic activity across West Africa.

‎The 1,028-kilometre highway will link five countries—Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana, Togo, Benin, and Nigeria—connecting major cities like Abidjan, Accra, Lome, Cotonou, and Lagos. Speaking at a stakeholder event in Accra, Hon. Agbodza said the project will improve the free movement of goods and people, leading to greater economic growth in the region.‎

‎The event marked the start of a national campaign to engage with and inform people in about 32 Ghanaian communities that will be affected by the project.‎

‎Ghana’s portion of the highway spans around 520 kilometres—more than half of the total length—and will pass through key towns and cities including Apimanim, Takoradi, Cape Coast, Saltpond, Winneba, Accra, Tema, Kasseh, Akatsi, and Akanu.
