Ghana is set to host a major continental event that will position Africa at the forefront of global marketing and technology discourse, from August 19 to 22, 2025. The event, organized by the African Marketing Confederation (AMC), is expected to attract over 500 delegates from more than 25 African countries, bringing together business leaders, marketers, tech innovators, academics, investors, government officials, and youth to deliberate on Africa’s path to global competitiveness.
During an interview on the GTV Breakfast Show, David Gowu, President of TICON Africa, and Ama Amoah, Vice President of the Chartered Institute of Marketing Ghana (CIMG) and AMC Representative, highlighted the strategic importance of the conference to Africa’s economic future.
According to Ama Amoah, what makes this edition unique is not just its location in Ghana, but the scale and diversity of participation. The conference will host influential voices from across the continent and beyond including seasoned professionals, investors, policymakers, and youth, who represent Africa’s largest demographic group. “We are bringing together hope for the future,” she noted. “This is our time as Africans to rise, take territories and position ourselves globally and we will do it through marketing and technology.”

She emphasized that Africa is not just participating in the global economy it is emerging as a powerful player. “Africa is now an emerging market. Ghana, being the gateway to Africa, offers an exponential experience this time round. This is an opportunity for all African nations to share their stories and connect with the global market.”
David Gowu expanded on the lineup of events, revealing that the President of Ghana is expected to attend the opening plenary, alongside ministers and top dignitaries from across the continent. The speaker list includes marketing stalwart Professor Abu Hinson, a keynote speaker since the first conference in Zimbabwe in 2022, and Professor Fred McBagonluri, President of Academic City University College. They will be joined by other thought leaders and experts in marketing, business, and technology.

The conference will revolve around three core themes: Innovation, Standards, and Global Influence. Key topics include the future of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Africa, FinTech, cybersecurity, data protection, and the strategic positioning of Africa on the global stage.
Addressing the growing conversation around AI, Gowu revealed that Ghana is actively working on a framework known as Responsible AI, which ensures ethical and effective use of artificial intelligence in business and governance. He mentioned that countries like Zambia have already made significant strides in this space, enacting new laws on data protection and cybersecurity. The conference will serve as a platform for African nations to compare notes, align strategies, and influence policy formulation on digital governance and innovation.
Beyond the technical discussions, the event also aims to foster intra-African collaboration. Gowu challenged the common narrative of African professionals always looking to the West. “It’s time African professionals start networking with each other. We have huge potential and opportunities right here. Let’s connect with our counterparts from Ethiopia, Zambia, South Africa, Malawi, Zimbabwe, and others to build a strong, unified business front.”
He encouraged local professionals, especially in Ghana, to take advantage of the conference to build networks, form partnerships, and gain exposure to market trends shaping the continent.

This is something that will go a long way to positively affect the bottom line of your businesses and position Africa where it truly belongs.”
