Government has expressed grave concern over the recent military escalation between Israel and Iran, following Israel’s military strikes on Iranian territory on June 13, 2025.
A press statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, called on both parties to exercise maximum restraint, prioritize dialogue, and utilize diplomatic channels to de-escalate the situation.
“Ghana further calls upon the parties to reaffirm their commitment to the Charter of the United Nations and the principles of international law,” the statement emphasized.
The Government also urged Israel and Iran to recommit urgently to peaceful resolution efforts and to respect each other’s sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity.
Reaffirming its support for multilateral diplomacy, Ghana declared its readiness to back a unified response from the international community to curb the violence, prevent its spread, and contain further destabilization in the Middle East. The Ministry warned that continued escalation poses a significant threat to regional and global peace and security.
