The Chief of Staff Mr. Julius Debrah has thrown government’s full support behind the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre’s (GIPC) groundbreaking Investment Opportunity Mapping Project (IOMP). This initiative aims to unlock investment potential in all 261 districts across 16 regions nationwide, promoting a more inclusive and decentralized approach to national development.

The project is being delivered in collaboration with the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Agribusiness, Ghana Export Promotion Authority (GEPA), and other development partners.
IOMP aims to:

  • Create a comprehensive investment opportunity database across all regions and districts.
  • Identify sector-specific potentials for indigenous and foreign investment.
  • Equip regional ministers, local government authorities and traditional leaders to market their localities.
  • Strengthen Ghana’s diplomatic missions to promote local investment prospects abroad.

Speaking at the launch, Mr. Julius Debrah emphasized that the IOMP represents a fundamental shift in Ghana’s development approach, aiming to ensure equal opportunities for citizens to benefit from investments and economic growth. He urged Ghanaian entrepreneurs, youth groups and indigenous companies to engage actively with the Chief of Staff’s office and other relevant institutions to harness the mapped opportunities into real projects. “The President’s vision is clear. We must reimagine the nation’s growth through district led investment and entrepreneurship. This is your time to move from ideas to implementation”, he noted.

He further encouraged the private sector, especially youth-led entrerprises to see the IOMP not just as a map, but as a national call to action to innovate, partner and build ventures that drive transformation from the ground up.

“The foundation has been laid. Now is the time for every foward looking Ghanaian business and every bold youth with a dream to step foward and say: I am ready to build, ready to grow and ready to serve this nation”, he concluded.
