Chairman of the National Media Commission (NMC) Yaw Boadu Ayeboafo, has called on the media to exercise their freedom with utmost responsibility especially during this election year.

They should also ensure that Ghana does not burn because of people who seek political power.

Speaking at a Panel Discussion in Accra yesterday (November 3) on Media and Democracy, Mr. Ayeboafo said the media is responsible for holding government accountable, and must ensure that no citizen is taken for granted based on the principles of the rule of law.

The panel discussion was held to commemorate the 85th anniversary of the State Broadcaster, GBC.
