Government says it will engage a private entity, Misak Company Limited to formalize an agreement to share the revenue from the sale of the scrap of the decommissioned Osagyefo Power Barge.

Deputy Energy Minister, William Owuraku Aidoo told Parliament that the Ministry, through Ghana National Petroleum Corporation, GNPC, partnered Misak to dispose off the unusable barge but contrary to the agreement reached, Misak commenced the removal of some parts of the barge without the knowledge of GNPC.

He said this in an answer to a question posed by the Member of Parliament, MP, for Jomoro, Dorcas Toffey on the status of the barge.

Madam Toffey however says there are more questions than answers from what the Minister said.

She said the government should be suing Misak for breach of contract and called for transparency.
