President John Dramani Mahama arrived at the headquarters of the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC) on Thursday, January 8, 2026, as part of a working visit to the state broadcaster.

The President was received by the Director-General of GBC, members of management, and staff of the Corporation, who welcomed him and exchanged New Year greetings.

















During the visit, President Mahama toured key facilities of the Corporation, including broadcast studios and transmission units, to gain first-hand insight into GBC’s operations. The President interacted with some journalists and staff, assessing their work and discussing the role of the media in national development.















The visit also provided an opportunity for President Mahama to outline his plans and vision for the country’s media sector, reaffirming government’s commitment to strengthening public sector institutions.
The working tour formed part of President Mahama’s broader engagement with key state institutions as he continued efforts to reinforce support for public service delivery and national communication infrastructure.
